ACBSP CEO Among the Speakers at the National Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) Business Dean’s Roundtable and 13th Annual Summit in New Orleans

OVERLAND PARK, KS, USA (June 3, 2015) Jeffrey Alderman, executive director and CEO of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP),, is among the speakers at the National HBCU Business Deans Roundtable 13th Annual Summit, taking place June 4-6 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Alderman will present a session on Saturday, June 6 titled: “ACBSP Accreditation Sustainability of the Modern Business School: The Power of Accreditation.” The session will focus on ways in which ACBSP accreditation can lead to establishing processes within business schools that encourage business faculty to document the quality of education they currently deliver and follow a path of continuous improvement for their programs, thus providing sustainability for the school.

“ACBSP is honored to count 43 Historically Black Colleges and Universities among its membership, including 34 that have demonstrated their commitment to educational excellence by achieving accreditation of their business programs through ACBSP and five that are candidates for accreditation, ” said Alderman. “We have been supporters of the work of the HBCU Business Dean’s Roundtable for many years and are proud to do so again this year,” Alderman said.

The HBCU Business Deans Roundtable and 13th Annual Summit is co-hosted by Southern University at New Orleans, Southern University Baton Rouge and Xavier University of New Orleans, LA. The theme of the event is: “The Role of Energy and Human Capital in Economic Development from a Global Perspective.” The purpose of the organization is to provide a forum for deans of HBCU business schools to address opportunities and challenges associated with enhancing business programs and initiatives. The organization also seeks to strengthen and develop strategic partnerships and alliances with corporations, government, and national organizations to provide the essential tools and resources for student success.


ACBSP’s mission is to promote continuous improvement and recognize excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world. ACBSP,, is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as a specialized accreditation agency for business education. ACBSP currently has 1,233 member campuses, 195 of which are located outside of the U.S. Of those campuses, 923 have achieved accreditation and more than 210 are in candidacy for accreditation.
