ACBSP Grants Accreditation to 25 Colleges and Universities in Nine Countries

ACBSP Grants Accreditation to 25 Colleges and Universities in Nine Countries


OVERLAND PARK, KS, USA (December 10, 2013) The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP),, Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners and Associate Degree Board of Commissioners meet twice a year in Kansas City, Mo., USA, to review the quality and integrity of business degree programs at colleges and universities seeking ACBSP accreditation. The two Boards have granted initial accreditation or reaffirmation of accreditation to 25 colleges and universities in nine countries this fall.


In November, the two Boards granted initial accreditation to the business programs at:

• City University of Seattle (Washington)                                                  

• Colorado Technical University (Colorado)                                            

• Concordia University — Portland (Oregon)

• Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University — Worldwide (multiple campuses)      

• Gateway Technical College (Wisconsin)

• Horizons University (France)

• Liberty University (Virginia)                                        

• Mongolian University of Science and Technology (Mongolia)

• Okanagan University (Canada)

• Purdue University — North Central (Indiana)                   

• South University (multiple campuses)

• The University of Findlay (Ohio)                                                                    

• Universidad Apec: UNAPEC — (Dominican Republic)

• Universidad Metropolitana (Puerto Rico)         

• University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (Arkansas)


In November, the two Boards granted separate accounting accreditation to the programs at:

• Walden University  (Minnesota)


Walden joins nine other schools that hold this distinction. LaGrange College (GA) was the first to achieve separate accounting accreditation from ACBSP in 2010.


Colleges and universities initially accredited by ACBSP must undergo a process of reaffirmation every 10 years in order to maintain accredited status. The two Boards granted reaffirmation of accreditation to:

• Butler County Community College (Pennsylvania)

• Chadron State College (Nebraska)

• County College of Morris (New Jersey)

• Florida State College at Jacksonville (Florida)

• Lenoir-Rhyne University (North Carolina)

• Oklahoma Christian University (Oklahoma)

• Roosevelt University (Illinois)

• Southern Baptist University (Missouri)

• Southern Polytechnic State University (Georgia)


"These campuses have shown their commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process. The initial accreditation and reaffirmation of accreditation granted to these institutions shows their commitment to provide the highest quality business education for their students," said Steve Parscale, ACBSP director of accreditation."


ACBSP accredits all business programs at all degree levels, from associate degrees in accounting and other business disciplines to doctorate degrees in management.



ACBSP’s mission is to promote continuous improvement and recognize excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world. ACBSP,, is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as a specialized accreditation agency for business education. ACBSP currently has 1,227 member campuses, 186 of which are located outside of the U.S. Of those campuses, 800 have achieved accreditation and more than 345 are in candidacy for accreditation.
