ACBSP Welcomes The College Board as a New Corporate Member

The College Board, based in New York, NY, recently joined ACBSP as a corporate member. The College Board is a not-for-profit membership organization committed to excellence and equality in education with a mission to connect students to college success and opportunity.

OVERLAND PARK, KS, USA (May 20, 2013) The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) welcomes The College Board as a new corporate member. The College Board will partner with ACBSP to offer its College Level Examination Program (CLEP),, to ACBSP-accredited colleges and universities.

CLEP has been the most widely trusted credit-by-examination program for over 40 years, accepted by 2,900 colleges and universities and administered in over 1,700 test centers. CLEP supports the goals of ACBSP-accredited institutions in the following ways:

  • Institutions may use CLEP for business courses as part of required program elements and/or prerequisites for undergraduate or graduate degrees.
  • Institutions may choose to use CLEP exams as formative and/or summative assessments to support ACBSP Quality Assurance Standard #4 ("Measurement and Analysis of Student Learning and Performance").
  • Institutions may choose to award credit for CLEP exams that allow a student to use CLEP credit to move into higher-level business courses and/or fulfill prerequisite requirements.

Business faculty from ACBSP member schools already using CLEP for their business programs will share best practices during a presentation on Friday, June 21 from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. MT. The presentation, titled "CLEP: An Affordable and Efficient Answer to your Assessment and CPC Needs,” is part of the ACBSP Accreditation Conference at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center. CLEP will also have an exhibit booth at the Accreditation Conference.

ACBSP Corporate Membership is granted to business corporations, foundations, professional associations, and non-profit organizations with strategic interests in influencing collegiate business education and supportive of the objectives of the Association.
