It's Official! At the annual business meeting held during the 2010 ACBSP Annual Conference in Los Angeles, members approved a name change. The new name for ACBSP is: Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs. The acronym remains the same.
This change is part of a two-year overall re-branding initiative, which also includes a new logo. Based on recommendations by the Marketing Committee, which were presented to the Board of Directors, an outreach to members took place at regional meetings held in the fall of 2009. Logo options were presented and the new name, which would require a bylaws change, was proposed. Questionnaires were distributed and collected at each of the nine regional meetings to determine how members felt about the proposed name change. They were also asked to identify their top logo choice.
The results of the questionnaires were studied and revealed a clear logo choice. Members also had positive comments about the proposed name change. In April, the Board of Directors approved the new name. This went before the membership for a final vote at the annual business meeting in June and was approved. Members will soon see both of these changes reflected on all print materials and on ACBSP Gateway.
