Teaching Excellence Award

Jamie Conrad 2013 TEA WinnerIn recognition of teaching excellence, faculty members may apply for the ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award. Each year two faculty members from each of the 10 regions, one from an associate degree school and one from a baccalaureate/graduate degree school, are honored as recipients of the award from their region. Each is provided with a medallion, a $100 check, and a waiver of fees to attend the ACBSP Annual Conference. Each regional recipient is honored on stage during the Annual Conference. Then one regional associate degree school recipient and one regional baccalaureate/graduate degree school recipient are announced as the International Award recipients. Each recipient of the International Award receives an additional $500 check, a plaque, and international recognition for their achievement.

This can be a valuable addition to your résumé and provides regional and international recognition for your business school. Just going through the process of documenting your achievements can be considered similar to the accreditation process and a valuable personal and professional self-evaluation exercise.

Dewayne Thompson 2013 TEA WinnerPlease take this opportunity to submit your applications for the Teaching Excellence Award. The application deadline is January 31, 2014. The application and more detailed information are available on the Teaching Excellence Award landing page of

Student Leadership Award

Student Leadership Award Plaque for StudentsThe ACBSP Student Leadership Award is given on each campus that chooses to endorse the program. Each participating campus determines its own criteria for the award. This may be part of an annual recognition of a student leader who has served on a student chapter or shown excellence within the business unit. The award may be presented based on criteria developed by faculty, or may be determined by the head of the business unit based on recommendations. Receipt of this award is a valuable addition to a student’s résumé. ACBSP provides access to a perpetual plaque that remains on the wall of the business school with the name of each year’s recipient, as well as individual plaques to be presented to student recipients.
