Janice Stoudemire Janice Stoudemire, founder and president of Palmetto Academic Consulting Services, Inc., is recognized as a national leader and advocate for outcomes assessment and student learning outcomes with a focus on providing support for faculty around the world dealing with the day-to-day challenges in educational assessment and planning. She regularly makes presentations and conducts workshops at national and international conferences and also provides assessment consulting services for two and four-year institutions.

Stoudemire retired from Midlands Technical College (MTC) after 25 years of teaching and serving as the co-director of MTC’s Assessment Institute. In addition, she was responsible for the developing and deploying a college-wide student learning outcomes process at MTC.

Her dedication to the field of education has won her more than 25 accolades at local, state and national levels including Teaching Excellence – Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) - Region III, S.C. Governor’s Distinguished Professor, WebCT’s Digital Content Leader Award, and Southern Region’s Outstanding Faculty Member Award from the Association of Community College Trustees. Stoudemire was honored with the “ACBSP Star Award,” presented by the ACBSP staff in recognition of her volunteer leadership. Also, ACBSP Region 3 awarded her with an “Outstanding Service Citation.”

Her credentials include CPA, ABA, ATA, five years of professional work experience, a master's degree in accountancy, and a site evaluator and mentor for ACBSP, as well as a past evaluator and consultant for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). She was also a member of the national committee responsible for creating and designing the first ever Educational Testing Service's (ETS) Major Field Test for two-year business programs. Stoudemire is an emeritus member of ACBSP. She served on the Board of Directors from 2005-11 and on the Associate Degree Commission from 2003-08 (chair from 2005-08). In addition, Janice served as president of ACBSP from 2009-2010. She currently serves as on the ACBSP Strategic Planning Committee.

Neil MarquardtNeil Marquardt is the Vice President of 4LTR Press and the Student Experience at Cengage Learning. He has nearly twenty years of experience in academic publishing, ranging from sales to acquisitions to management and product conception. In 2007, Neil started the innovative Cengage brand, 4LTR Press, with a single title, MKTG. Today, the 4LTR Press brand of college textbooks encompasses over 60 unique titles, has sold over 2.5 million copies, and is in use in over 2,000 U.S. institutions. Neil credits much of 4LTR Press’ development and performance to relationships and outreach with faculty and students throughout the country.

Bill PollardBill Pollard is currently serving as Chairman of Fairwyn Investment Company, a private investment firm. For over a twenty-five year period, from 1977 to 2002, Bill participated in the leadership of The ServiceMaster Company and served not once but twice as its Chief Executive Officer. He also served as Chairman of the Board of ServiceMaster from 1990 to April 2002 and was elected Chairman Emeritus in 2002 when he retired from the Board. He is currently serving as an advisor to the Company.

In addition to his work at Fairwyn Investment Company and ServiceMaster, Bill has served as a director of several public companies and a number of charitable, religious, and educational organizations. He currently serves as a director of Cadence Healthcare System, The Drucker Institute of Claremont Graduate School, Bright China Social Fund, and The California Institute of Advanced Management (CIAM). He also serves as a director and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and is an Advisory Life Trustee of Wheaton College, where he served over 31 years as a Trustee of the College. He is currently serving as an adjunct professor at Wheaton and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Hastert Center at Wheaton.

Bill is a graduate of Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois, and received a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law. From 1963 to 1972 he was engaged in the practice of law, specializing in corporate finance and tax matters, and from 1972 to 1977 he served on the faculty and as a Vice President of Wheaton College.

He is the author of the best selling book, The Soul of the Firm and also has written for or contributed to other books and magazines including The Leader of the Future, Leading People, Leading for Innovation and Organizing for Results, “The Quest for the Entrepreneurial Spirit,” “The Leader Who Serves” and The Heart of a Business Ethic. His most recent published book is Serving Two Masters? Reflections on God and Profit. His next book will be published in 2014 and is entitled The Tides of Life.


Thought Leader Session - ACBSP: 25 Years and Moving Foward

Annette CravenAnnette E. Craven, Ph.D. is a past president of ACBSP, professor of management at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, and managing partner of QPR Associates, LLC. She has a Ph.D. in higher education administration and human communications from the University of Denver, master's degrees in human relations and adult education from the University of Oklahoma, and a B.S. in business administration from the College of the Ozarks. She is an Illinois-licensed CPA and served as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Program Examiner from 2007-2009 and senior examiner in 2011.

Under her leadership as president of ACBSP, the Committee for Scholar-Practitioners Publications was formed and the first scholarly journal, The Annual Edition: Recognizing Excellence in Business Education, created. She has many years of experience in higher education governance and strategic planning, assessment, and quality improvement.
