ACBSP 2008 Annual Conference
|
Pre-Conference Workshop - Evaluator Training ACBSP has now fully transitioned from the traditional prescriptive standards and criteria to non-prescriptive standards and criteria which include Baldrige criteria. Evaluator Training sessions offered in the past have focused on the prescriptive standards. This workshop is recommended for experienced evaluators who are familiar with the traditional prescriptive standards and have had minimal experience in working with the Baldrige criteria. For those individuals wishing to become an ACBSP evaluator, this type of training is required. This 10-hour pre-conference workshop will focus on evaluator training using the ACBSP criteria and the Baldrige Process. The presenters, John and Tina Shoemaker, are National and State Baldrige examiners as well as experienced trainers. They have adapted a Baldrige case-study to the ACBSP Standards and Criteria for both the associate degree and baccalaureate/graduate degree institutions. Attendees will learn how to effectively review the self-study, identify strengths and opportunities for improvement in an ACBSP self-study using the Baldrige process, as well as learning how to create effective feedback comments using a non-prescriptive approach. Training materials will be emailed to registered attendees prior to the workshop. Certificates of Completion will be provided at the conclusion of the workshop. A registration fee of $225 is being charged to cover costs of meals (dinner, breakfast, and lunch), training materials, and other expenses associated with the pre-conference workshop. Registration is limited to a maximum of 200 participants. Early registration is recommended.
