Tunxis Business Students Inducted Into Kappa Beta Delta National Honor Society

The Delta Beta Chapter of Kappa Beta Delta (KBD) at Tunxis Community College in Farmington announced the names of those students who have accepted membership in the business honor society. They were formally recognized on April 29 at the chapter's inaugural induction ceremony.
KBD is an international honor society for students who are enrolled in colleges that are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The honor society was established to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment in the pursuit and completion of studies in business, management and administration culminating in associate degree conferral. To be eligible for induction, a student must have completed 30 credit hours toward their associate degree and have attained a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or better.
"It is exciting and very special as a teacher to watch your students being honored for their hard work and achievement," said Tunxis Professor David L. Lardie, faculty advisor for the honor society.
The new members of KBD, listed by towns of residence are:
Six former Tunxis alumni who went on to attain master's degrees and become instructors at Tunxis were also inducted as honorary members. They are: Candace Carbone, professor and Business Department chair, and adjunct faculty instructors Margaret Carlin, William Detlefsen, Beatrice Fevry, Tatiana Machado, and Jonny Sahlin. Catering for the event was sponsored by Verizon Wireless.
The Tunxis business program, which has been accredited by ACBSP since 2009, offers a business administration degree that transfers to UConn and the Connecticut State Universities, and certificates in accounting, business administration, finance, and marketing.
