International Accreditation Seminar Held at Kohinoor School

MUMBAI: The Kohinoor Business School in collaboration with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) had organized an 'International Accreditation Awareness Seminar'. Directors and faculty members from over 25 business school within Mumbai participated in the accreditation seminar.
The event started with a brief introduction of delegates Douglas Viehland, Executive Director - ACBSP (USA) and A Thothatri Raman, Chairman - SEAA Trust, New Delhi by N M Kondap, Director General - KBS.
N M Kondap, Director General - KBS received the Certificate of Membership of Accreditation Council for Business & Programs from Douglas Viehland, Executive Director - ACBSP and A Thothatri Raman, Chairman - SEAA Trust.
Raman, Chairman - SEAA Trust, in his address said "we have 4000 business school in our country out of which 20 business school are accreditated so far, so atleast 100 business school under the international accreditation should get it by 2015. International accreditation will be the best quality bench mark on student learning, faculty effectiveness and institutional branding. ACBSP has a large number of accreditation in India no. 8 and they have 17 member schools currently undergoing accreditation ACBSP process. Kohinoor Business School is the 18th one to receive this membership of ACBSP. This accreditation process take 2 - 3 years, during this period there will be a strong drive building quality all around, relating to student learning, faculty and institutional effectiveness".
Viehland, Executive Director - ACBSP said "ACBSP was founded in the year of 1988; it was founded to create an accreditation process designed to fit the needs of business programs. It is mainly focused on teaching and learning that occurs during the classroom. We grant the accreditation for different business schools that are running business study courses like Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour, Information Technology, Quantitative Analysis & Decision Making, Operations Management, Managerial Economics, Strategic Management & Leadership, Financial Concepts & Markets etc.
Our expansion will continue as greater awareness of the value of accreditation is occurring. As more and more schools obtain accreditation and become advocates, confidence by other to achieve accreditation will increase. We also have trained evaluators and mentors who live and work in India and this can provide cost savings and the belief that this is a global standard with local faces."
