Collaboration Between ACBSP and Okan
University Aims to Raise Awareness of Business Accreditation in Turkey
This agreement provides for Okan University to
conduct activities to create awareness of ACBSP among universities in Turkey during
the first year with plans to expand that awareness to universities in
surrounding countries in subsequent years.

Dr. Enar Tunc, Vice Rector-Management, at the Tuzla Campus of Okan University
(pictured center) signed the Memorandum of Agreement, along with Charles Beem,
President of ACBSP (left) and Douglas Viehland, Executive Director of ACBSP, at
a meeting held during the ACBSP International Conference in Brussels, Belgium. Dr.
Sule Kut, Okan University Rector, not pictured, also signed the Memorandum of
awareness seminars are planned to create initial interest and introduce the
concept of specialized business accreditation to universities in Turkey. More
specific workshops will follow that address ACBSP accreditation processes. “As
more experience is acquired, representatives from Okan University will be our
local partner authority in Turkey, serving both as mentor and as supervisor for
other institutions of higher learning in their study and bid for accreditation
through ACBSP,” said Viehland.
Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) www.acbsp.org, is the
only global accrediting body to accredit business, accounting, and
business-related programs at all degree levels.
