Best Practices in Assessing Student Learning Outcomes

To ensure continuous improvement, part of your formal assessment plan of student learning should include a periodic review of the assessment process. This workshop will provide some of the best practices in the designing and deploying student learning outcomes that you may want to consider implementing as part of your review process.

Special emphasis will be placed on the alignment and correlation of institutional, department, program and course-level SLOs, the use of "assessment" curriculum maps, as well as the triangulation of indirect and direct assessment results.

The workshop will include a brief introduction to assessing student learning, so it is perfect for the novice or experienced assessment person. Participants are asked to bring a copy of their institutional outcomes/goals, department or School of Business SLOs, one business program’s SLOs and course-level SLOs from at least one course that applies to the program selected.

Registration is available to anyone already registered for the ACBSP Annual Conference for a fee of $75.
