Call for Presentations

The ACBSP Annual Conference Committee invites proposals for presentations during ACBSP Conference 2017. Presentation proposals may be either practitioner or research based. Practitioner-based presentations should be interactive with a high level of participant engagement and hands-on experience. Research-based presentations should include the appropriate research design and scientific methodology. This can be a presentation based on a previous presentation or research, or newly introduced presentation and research content.

An online submission system is used to submit a response to this Call for Presentations. All proposals are peer-reviewed by representatives of the Annual Conference Committee. Authors will be notified of the status of their proposal and the committee's decision as either accepted without modification, accepted with modification, or not accepted.

All concurrent sessions are 45 minutes. This typically will include five minutes for introductions at the beginning, 25-30 minutes to present, five to ten minutes for questions and discussions, and five minutes at the end for concluding remarks and completion of session evaluations.

Tracks

All proposals must indicate one of the following concurrent conference tracks:

  1. Preparing Students for Career Success
ACBSP Conference 2017 has a theme focused on preparing students for career success. As we move into the global landscape, the process of continuous improvement toward educational excellence and helping students as they move on to the desired career has become more crucial. This focus takes real world experiences from the students and integrates them into academic rigor where new models and concepts can be created.
  2. Teaching Excellence
This track focuses on best practices for the classroom, assessment of student learning and online delivery of learning.
  3. Accreditation Process
This sessions focus on the actual processes associated with initial accreditation, maintenance of accreditation and reaffirmation of accreditation. Presentations should demonstrate linkages between institutional experience and the accreditation processes. Potential topics include involving the faculty in the preparation of self-study or quality assurance reports, lessons learned and obtaining administrative support when pursuing and obtaining accreditation.
